At Life and Soul we strongly believe a great DJ should have a passion for all genres of music so they can predict the response of guests when they play certain classic songs from their vast collection. It is important for a DJ to read the crowd and they should instinctively know what will work at their events, particularly in a multi-generational crowd. Each celebrational event is unique and special, and to that regard, we will consult and plan with the client to meet your individual needs. Some clients want the DJ to read the crowd and keep the floor filled using their music skills. Some clients want specific genres played. Some clients their own specific playlists catered for. Some clients want Must Play, Please Play and Don’t Ever Play( regardless of who requests!)

At Life and Soul we are motivated towards mentoring and teaching new or inexperienced DJ’s so that in time they can deliver the high performace we require for our customers. My mentor Jon Carson was nice enough to train me and gave me the patience and advice I needed to get where I am today, and I am forever grateful for that. Here at Life and Soul we aim to do the same. Our professional DJ's and Live music artists provide the best music entertainment for pubs, clubs, private venues and events

Life and Soul started with Jon Carson, a highly popular and respected DJ across the south coast of England. If you can name a bar or club past or present along the south coast, chances are that he’s gigged there! However, the history of Life and Soul does not end there. His father Dave Carson was arguably the most famous DJ in Southampton during the 70’s and 80’s. He was gigging at the Royal Pier in Southampton for many years, making the most out of a very high profiled residency. I first met Jon in Popworld Southampton, and was immediately struck by his DJ skills and professionalism. He recognised my passion and interest in the music industry. Jon coached and developed my own DJ skills, to the point where I gained the confidence needed for high level gigs, which i still love doing to this day. His mentoring and my BA degree in Music Management has enabled me to take the lead role at Life and Soul, which continues to grow and uphold the high standards in musical entertainment.  Life and Soul will continue to provide the ultimate party atmosphere, whatever your needs, so if your looking for a banging evening, get in touch!
